지상의 왕자 전차와 지상의 폭격기 자주포가 대결하면? 

The Ministry of National Defense has uploaded a video comparing the K-1 main battle tank and K-9 Thunder, on its official YouTube channel. They are South Korea's leading weapons.

The K-1 is among the top 10 battle tanks in the world, showing its destructive power with a 120-millimeter smoothbore gun. It can fire while moving because of modern electronics, ballistic computers and fire-control systems.

The K-9 Thunder is a 155-millimeter self-propelled howitzer that has a burst rate of three rounds per 15 seconds and a maximum fire rate of six to eight rounds a minute for three minutes.

The K-9's gun barrel is longer than the K-1's, while the K-9 has a hold stack for the barrel but the K-1 does not.

The K-1 shows superiority with a 1,200-horsepower engine compared with the K-9's 1,000-horsepower engine.

In terms of guns attached to its upper part, the K-1 has two MG-50s and an M-60 smoke grenade discharger. The K-9 takes one minute to its fire gun.

When it comes to maximum effective range, the K-9 shows superiority with 41 kilometers compared with the K-1's 2.5 kilometers.

Choi Seok-chul, a professor at the National Defense University, said the weapons cannot really be compared because the tank conducts frontline tasks and the self-propelled gun provides fire support to the front.

국방부가 지상의 왕자 전차와 지상의 폭격기 자주포를 비교하는 영상을 공식 유튜브 계정에 게재했다.

영상 속 전차는 K-1 전차이고 자주포는 K-9의 155mm 자주포로 세계 최고의 화력을 자랑하는 우리나라 대표무기들이다.

K-1 전차는 세계에서 TOP10 안에 손꼽히는 전차로 적외선 장치가 탑재되어 밤에도 낮처럼 사격이 가능한 전차이며 안전화 장치가 부착되어 달리면서도 사격할 수 있다.

K-9은 대한민국 육군과 해병대가 운영하는 신형 155㎜ 자주포로, 혼자서 사격 제원을 바꾸는 TOT (Time of Targe) 능력을 갖추고 있다.

두 무기를 비교하기 전 영상은 시민들 인터뷰를 보여주는데 시민들의 의견이 반으로 갈려 어떤 무기가 더 우세한지 결과를 궁금하게 한다.

먼저, K-9 자주포 포신의 길이는 8.06m로 K-1 전차의 포신보다 약 3m 더 길었다. 또한, K-9 자주포는 포신거치대가 있는 반면 K-1전차는 포신거치대가 없다.

엔진 출력을 비교했을 때 전차가 1,200마력 엔진 출력을 가지고 있어 1,000마력 엔진 출력을 가지고 있는 자주포보다 강한 엔진 출력을 보여준다.

사격 명령 후 첫발이 발사되는 시간을 비교했을 때 전차는 8초가 걸린 반면 자주포는 1분이 걸렸다.

마지막으로 포의 사거리를 비교하였는데 전차의 사거리는 2.5km였고 자주포의 사거리는 41km였다.

비교가 끝난 후 국방대학교 무기체계 전공 최석철 교수가 나와 전차는 전투부대와 같이 전방에서 전쟁을 수행하고 자주포는 아군의 후방지역에서 전선에 화력을 지원하기 때문에 서로 비교 상대가 될 수 없다고 말했다.
